Cotswolds: The Wild Rabbit, Kingham

In the UK, everyone has their ‘local’. It’s the neighbourhood pub they’ll retire to after a long day for a pint, or to gather on Sunday with friends and family for a roast.

The Wild Rabbit is mine.

The Wild Rabbit might just be the most beautiful pub you’ve stepped foot in. Owned and designed by the same Lady Bamford of Daylesford just down the road, it’s stylish without ever trying too hard to be.

It tows the line perfectly between traditional and modern. Exposed stone walls, mix-matched oversized cigar leather chairs, and roaring open fireplaces balance against quirky artwork and mid century pieces.

In the back they’ve got a dining room that serves traditional British food sourced from their organic farm just a stone’s throw away.

I didn’t bring my camera the night we ate here, so you’ll have to take my word for it that the food is amazing. Executive Chef Tim Allen earned The Wild Rabbit a Michelin Star this past year, but it thankfully didn’t affect the atmosphere (or prices!) at all.

Back at the bar they serve a great range of wines from their in-house brand, Château Léoube, as well as craft cidres and beers, cocktails, and little bottles of Belvoir.

As for me? I snuggled up beside a crackling fire and sipped on a Daylesford Mojito.

I guess I really have got the Spring Fever!

I’ve never stayed myself, but The Wild Rabbit also has a couple of guest rooms upstairs that are meant to be a sort of Pinterest heaven.

Now do you see why I love this place so much? If you’ve found yourself a local that you love, let me know in the comments below!

What a gorgeous pub Rosalie and the perfect local! I’m moving back to the country shortly and I can’t wait to go on country hikes and start exploring the local country pubs xx
